April 2 CHRISTIANSTED— Governor Bryan, on Tuesday, lauded a public-private partnership between VIYA and the Virgin Islands Government to provide complimentary cable service and equip the Herbert Grigg Home for the Aged with 25 40-inch televisions. Governor Bryan thanked VIYA, the Department of Human Services and the staff of Herbert Grigg Home for the Aged for their efforts toward the partnership before participating in a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at one of the rooms outfitted with a new television and cable equipment. During Tuesday’s ceremony, Governor Bryan highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships and community involvement in improving the quality of life for residents of the Herbert Grigg Home. “It takes a community to come together to take care of our seniors. It’s an offering of warm comfort by  a friend, having these means of communications. I remember going door-to-door in the aftermath of hurricanes Irma and Maria and seeing so many of our seniors with their radios and seeing how much they rely on radio and television for important information. Thank you to VIYA, the Department of Human Services, and all the partners in the community who came together to make this happen,” Governor Bryan said. ### Photo Caption Governor Albert Bryan Jr participates in a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at the Herbert Grigg Home for the Aged with VIYA VP of Public Relations Jennifer Materangas-King, left, and Director of Herbert Grigg Home for the Aged Ana Velez-Martinez.  TAGS No tags CATEGORIES Uncategorized Previous Next Comments are closed © 2026 Government of the United States Virgin Islands.
