COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS, VETERANS AFFAIRS AND CONSUMER PROTECTION BILL NO. 36-0011 Thirty-Sixth Legislature of the Virgin Islands February 27, 2025 An act amending title 3 Virgin Islands Code, section 715(a) by changing the process through which active members of the Government Employees Retirement System become members of the Board PROPOSED BY: Senator Milton E. Potter Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: 1 SECTION 1. Title 3 Virgin Islands Code, section 715 is amended as follows: 2 (a) In subsection (a) by striking the fourth and fifth sentences and inserting the 3 following: “Two active members of the Government Employees Retirement System 4 must be elected through a process to be determined and conducted by the System. One 5 member must be a resident of the district of St. Croix and the other member must be a 6 resident of the district of St. Thomas-St. John.” 7 (b) in subsection (a), paragraph (2) by striking “two members from the Central 8 Labor Council and the”. …
