The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) issues a call for abstracts for the 9th annual UVI Research Day, which is scheduled to be held on Friday, April 24, 2020. Each year, on UVI Research Day, UVI celebrates the scholarship and innovative research of our faculty, students, and staff. UVI community members are invited to submit abstracts of approximately 200 words or less for poster, round-table discussion, and demonstration presentations. We strongly urge teaching and research faculty to encourage the participation of students engaged in all levels of research, in any research discipline. Four awards – one for faculty/staff and one for students on each campus – will be given the best-judged poster sessions. Submit abstracts to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/UVIResearchDay2020abstracts by Friday, February 14, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. FORMAT DESCRIPTIONS 1. ROUNDTABLE Interactive 40- to 50-minute interactive discussion with public participants facilitated by you (and your team, if more than one presenter). Round-table discussions are scheduled 2-3 weeks prior to the event. You will be contacted regarding your time slot. 3. DEMONSTRATION Interactive, engaging demonstration (displayed during the entire duration of the event). We expect demonstrations to be hands-on presentations for interaction with UVI Research Day attendees. Submission Procedures Please submit an abstract indicating the type of session you are proposing – poster session, roundtable, or demonstration – and include the required information specified in the description. The submission date for abstracts is Friday, February 14, 2020 by 11:59 p.m. Abstracts will not be accepted after the deadline.
