Bell Sr.: “It is with deep sadness that I join the people of the Virgin Islands in mourning the passing of former Senator John A. Bell Sr., a respected son of St. Croix and a devoted public servant who gave many years of service to this Territory. Across six terms in the Legislature of the Virgin Islands, Senator Bell served with dedication, conviction, and a clear sense of duty. In leadership roles that included Majority Leader, Minority Leader, and Vice President, he helped shape public life in these islands and earned the lasting respect of those he served. Senator Bell’s legacy is one of service. He answered the call to represent his community, and he did so with purpose. The naming of the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility stands as a lasting tribute to the regard in which he was held and to the contributions he made to the Virgin Islands. On behalf of the Government and people of the Virgin Islands, I extend heartfelt condolences to his children, grandchildren, loved ones, and all who mourn his passing. May they find comfort in his memory and strength in the legacy he leaves behind. May he rest in peace.” ### TAGS No tags CATEGORIES Uncategorized Previous Next Comments are closed © 2026 Government of the United States Virgin Islands.
