ACT WO %35e BILL NO. 29-0201 TWENTY-NINTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2012 An Act authorizing the Governor to establish an agreement or partnership with any entity to build a technical school on St. Thomas ---0--- WHEREAS, the residents of the Virgin Islands have only one institution of higher learning in the Virgin Islands; and WHEREAS, there exists a need in the Virgin Islands for another post-secondary option in the form of an accredited, technical school that will allow Virgin Islands residents to be competitive in this global economy; and WHEREAS, the residents of the Virgin Islands are requiring their elected officials to establish an institution that will provide state of the art technical training; and WHEREAS, the institution will serve as a regional hub; and WHEREAS, the time is right for the Government to enter into an agreement or partnership to build such an institution in the Virgin Islands; Now, Therefore, Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. …
