Farrell Director Designee Press Release To: All News Media From: Oral Wheatley Fire Chief STT / StJ Date: February 27, 2015 Re: SCENARIO FOR CEKA EMERGENCY EXERCISE At 9:46 am, Virgin Islands Fire Service in conjunction with VITEMA, Virgin Island’s Port Authority, FAA, TSA, EMS, FBI, US Customs and other local government agencies participated in a CEKA EMERGENCY EXERCISE. Two units from the Fort Christian Fire Station responded to the call. Upon arrival, two additional units from the Emile Berry Fire Station were ordered to the scene. This mock exercise was to evaluate the Virgin Island’s Port Authority response to catastrophic aircraft accident at the Cyril E. King Airport. …

The Virgin Island’s Port Authority goals were to test the following objectives: • Test VIPA’s ARFF response. • Test VIPA’s Police Response • Incident Command System • 911 Communication • Airline Procedure Also the exercise evaluated the other agencies ability to function as one cohesive unit under the leadership of the Virgin Island’s Port Authority. “WE EXIST TO PROTECT, CARE FOR, AND SERVE”
