ACT NO.6493 BILL NO. 24-0194 TWENTY-FOURTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE UNITED STATES Regular Session 2001 To amend titles 14 and 23 and title 33, section 3051a, Virg in Islands Code, to enact the Virgin Islands Gun Control Act of 2001, and for other relate d purposes ~--0-— BE IT ENACTED by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 14, Virgin Islands Code, is amended in the following instances: Section 922, subsection (a) paragraph 2, is amended after “degree” by inserting “assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree, assault in the third degree and larceny”; and (b) Section 2251 is amended in the following instances: Q)) Subsection (a)(2)(A) is amended by striking the phase “not more than $1,000 or imprisoned not more than two (2) years, or both”, where it appears, and inserting in lieu thereof “$5,000 and imprisoned not more than five (5) years”; and (2) Subsection (a)(2)(B) is amended by striking the phrase “not more than $2,000 or imprisoned not more than five (5) years, or both”, where it appears, and imserting in lieu thereof “$10,000 an …
