The Food Commission has always hbeen a spectacle of criticism, but this sugar business beats all and makes the Food Commission lock as it were poking fun at itself. The consumer naturally is simply delighted and is buying his sugar in small quanti- ties so as not to be overstocked when the price settles down to Te. a pound. It is our pleasure to report continued rainfall practically all day yesterday and through the night. According to understanding that the S. S. Guiana sailed from New York on the 17th., that boat is looked for in St. Thomas tomorrow 23rd., and in Frederiksted on Friday. The mail-schooner Creole has not yet shown up today. The weather looked somewhat threatening last night and probably Capt George thought a eyclone was coming and did not sail from St. Thomas. There is a favorable light breeze on this a. m. and if (n her way the Creole may arrive later. , The s. s. **Korona’’ for New York is due at Frederiksted at 9 o’clock tomor- row morning. CORRECTION.
