COMMITTEE ON RULES AND JUDICIARY BILL NO. 36-0142 Thirty-Sixth Legislature of the Virgin Islands August 26, 2025 An act amending title 27 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 17, section 45, by changing the maximum number of members of the Board for the Licensing of Barbering and Cosmetology PROPOSED BY: Senator Avery L. Lewis Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: 1 SECTION 1. Title 27 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 17, section 451a, subsection (b), is 2 amended in the second sentence by striking “two” and inserting “three”, and by striking “on 3 any one island” and inserting “in any district”. 4 BILL SUMMARY 5 This bill changes the maximum number of members that can reside in any district to three 6 members for the Board of Licensing of Barbering and Cosmetology. 7 BR25-0646C/July 23, 2025/LMW 8
