ACT NO, 7013 BILL NO. 27-0179 TWENTY-SEVENTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2008 An Act appropriating $450,000 to the Department of Public Works to repair and use the former Alexander I. Wilson Elementary School located at No. 279 Estate La Valle, St. Croix as a Public Safety substation ---0--- WHEREAS, the Police Department, Fire Service and the Emergency Medical Services on the island of St. Croix do not have a permanent public safety presence in La - Valle, St. Croix; and : = 2 WHEREAS, it takes a considerable amount of time to respond to an emergency in La Valle due to its remoteness; and WHEREAS, the permanent presence of a public safety substation in La Valle would serve as a deterrent to crime in that location; and WHEREAS, the interest of the public would best be served by having a public safety substation in La Valle; Now, Therefore, Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. …
