ACT NO. 7664 BILL NO. 30-0445 THIRTIETH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2014 An Act ratifying Minor Coastal Zone Permits No. CZT-13-14W and No. CZX-16-14W issued to the Virgin Islands Next Generation Network (ViNGN) ---0-- WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources issued Minor Coastal Zone Permits No. CZT-13-14W and No. CZX-16-14W to the Virgin Islands Next Generation Network (VINGN) on May 20, 2014, and the Governor approved the Permits on May 23, 2014; and WHEREAS, Minor Coastal Zone Permits CZT-13-14W and CZX-16-14W authorize ViNGN to install four submarine segments for a fiber optic cable system linking the islands of St. Thomas, Water Island, and St. Croix as outlined in section 2 of the respective Permits; and WHEREAS, title 12, section 911 (e) of the Virgin Islands Code provides that the Governor's approval of any coastal zone permit issued under section 911 or lease must be ratified by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands; Now, Therefore, Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. …
