ANSWER: Yes Question: Will the contractor be responsible for surveying the fence line? Answer: No. The contractor will be shown the location as to where the fence will be placed. Question: Specification for the materials of construction? Answer: Please see the revised drawings and scope of work. Question: What are the lengths of each fence run? Answer: The contractor is responsible for installing 5,992 L.F of an 8ft high fence. Contractor will be paid by the L.F. Please see scope of work. Question: Where will the gates be located? Answer: Please see the revised scope of work Zz tg on, Sip ie Rac INS Question: Are there barbed wire on the top of gates Answer: Razor wire will be placed on the top of the gates Question: With respect to the automatic openers, around how many times each gate would be open and closed each day? Answer: on an average the entrance gate will be open and closed approximately 400 times each day Question: Also, how will the gate be open and closed? Through remote control, keypad, security guard with a push button station? Answer: The gate will be open and closed by a security guard push button Station. Question: Where will the electrical power for each gate originate. Answer: Only one of the gate will be powered and electricity will be obtained from the adjacent pump station Question: What are the requirements for the decorative island Answer: Some landscaping with flowers Question: Where will the paved turn around be located? How large? Will curb be required? Answer: The turnaround will be approximately 100’x40° with no curb and it will be located by the security guard booth. Question: Will it be necessary to level the fence line to one elevation or will staggered fence elevations be acceptable? Answer: The contractor is expected to follow the contour of the land Question: Using the staggered fence elevation, what will be used to fill in the bottom? Answer: A continuous concrete footing (12”) will be constructed under the fence to hold the wire in place Question: Will there be buried concrete wall at the fence line Answer: Yes. Please see the revised drawings Question: How many large trees will have to be removed? Answer: Please see the revised scope of work. A Lump sum cost is placed in the scope of work for this task Question: Will there be any demolition of existing structures, fence e.t.c? Answer: No Question: Are there existing underground utilities that must be avoided? Answer: The fence will straddle the perimeter of the gut and there are not utility lines in that area. Secondly no major excavation will be taking place except for the footing for the post at a depth of 24”. Question: Will there be any electronic security required? Answer: No. Not for this scope of work. Question: What are the requirements when the fence crosses a gut? Answer: A culvert will be placed in those areas by a third party Question: Will there be roads on one or both sides of the fence? Answer: There will be a road on one side of the fence (interior) Question: The standard wire gauges are 11.5, 10.5 and 9 for Anti Climb Fence. Eight (8) gauge would be nonstandard and more expensive. Is it an absolute requirement? Answer: This is a security fence for a prison to prevent prisoners from escaping the confined areas, thus No. 8 gauge will be used for this project. Question: Please provide the size of tube for the upright post and horizontal rails and thickness of the steel Answer: Please see the revised drawings Question: Are all the fencing materials hot dripped galvanized? Answer: Yes, except for the stainless steel razor wire. Please see drawings with specifications Question: Please provide a drawing on the turnaround and full details of specifications Answer: The scope of work is revised showing a total area of 100’x40’ will be paved for the turnaround. A total of 50 tons of asphalt will be used for this purpose. Question: Government employees at the walkthrough, could not give any further information regarding any questions that were asked.
