FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 26, 2020 Census 2020 USVI Data Collection Ramps Up Territorywide (Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas and Christiansted, St. Croix US Virgin Islands) – Census 2020 US Virgin Islands will begin a massive data collection push this Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28. As part of its Census data collection process, Census 2020 USVI will engage most of its St. Thomas field staff this weekend to homes in Anna’s Retreat, Tutu, Wintberg, St. Joseph & Rosendahl and Mandahl. More than 30 Census field staff workers will be dispatched from the Four Winds area to collect data between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. On St. Croix, field staff will be dispatched to homes in the Walter IM Hodge Housing Community, Good Hope, Williams Delight, Mon Bijou, La Grande Princesse, Sion Hill, Peppertree Terrace and Strawberry. Census workers will wear royal blue tee shirts with the words Census Taker on the back and carry US Census Bureau and University of the Virgin Islands identification badges. Supervisors will wear branded white Census 2020 USVI polo shirts. More Census field staff are needed. …

This makes it so much more difficult to collect the information. A shortfall in the count of our numbers can have severe repercussions on funding for our community. Let’s get our fair share.
