ACTNO, 7934 BILL NO. 31-0337 THIRTY-FIRST LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2016 An Act amending title 17 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 5, section 41, subsection (c) relating to the courses required to be taught in public schools by adding a structured civics course and providing for technical amendments ---0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 17 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 5, section 41, subsection (c) is amended in the following instances: (a) Paragraph (7) is amended by striking “and” after the semicolon “(;)"; (b) Paragraph (8) is re-designated as subsection (d); (c) A new paragraph (8) is inserted to read as follows: “(8) A structured civics course for grades 9-12 which utilizes materials relevant to the Virgin Islands and includes the functions of the three branches of Government of the Virgin Islands and the roles of public officials; and”. ; 2 Thus passed by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands on September 20, 2016. …
