Potter Senate President Thirty-Sixth Legislature of the Virgin Islands Capitol Building St. Thomas, Virgin Islands 00802 Re: Request for Extension to Present to the 36" Legislature of the Virgin Islands the State of the Territory Dear Senate President Potter: In accordance with the Revised Organic Act of 1954, I acknowledge that the State of the Territory Address is mandated to be delivered each year on the second Monday of January. As stipulated, I am scheduled to appear before the 36" Legislature on Monday, January 12, 2026 to present the State of the Territory. As you know, I will be delivering my final State of the Territory address, which will serve as an important reflection on the achievements and future of the Virgin Islands under my leadership. In order to ensure that the address is delivered with the depth and preparation it deserves, additional time is required for proper planning and coordination. …

In order to ensure that the address is delivered with the depth and preparation it deserves, additional time is required for proper planning and coordination. Given the significance of this final address, I respectfully request an extension to allow for adequate preparation and to ensure the event is organized in a manner befitting its importance. I request that the State of the Territory address be rescheduled to Monday, January 26, 2026 at 7:00 pm. Thank you for considering this request. I look forward to your understanding and support as we work to ensure that all members of our community can participate fully in these significant occasions.
