The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority Corporate Communications NEWS RELEASE Contact: Jerain Fleming, Public Information Officer 340-774-3552 extension 2065 communications@viwapa.vi / www.viwapa.vi April 7, 2015 WAPA Announces Tentative Emergency Rotation Schedule for Sections of St. Thomas/St. John Feeders Tuesday Evening The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority announces tentative electrical service interruptions to small sections of St. Thomas feeders for Tuesday evening, as warranted. The Authority’s generating units 23 and 15 experienced complications over the past few days, and are currently undergoing necessary repairs. With a proposed rotation schedule, the utility in continuing its generation protective measures to ensure continuous stability of the system. Rotating service interruptions will be performed on two hours intervals, and will be conducted in a manner to ensure service is retained by as many customers as possible. Notice will be given of feeders selected for rotation, by VI Alert, website notice and Facebook. …

Tuesday evening’s tentative rotation schedule is as follows: 6pm - 8pm – sections of feeder 7A 8pm - 10pm – sections of feeder 6A 10pm – 12am – sections feeder 7C, 8B, 9C 12am – 2am – sections of feeder 7D The Authority apologizes for any inconvenience caused by these emergency interruptions and will do our best to minimize the inconvenience to customers.
