With reference to the publication from the Sanitary Department respecting rules for making bread, cakes, ett., it may be stated that the control of this matter would be w:ll extended also so the sale of provisions in groceries where the flies are often so thickly gathered on the sugar as to form a veritable . curtain over the dish or other vesselin whieh sugar is kept for sale on the open counters. This applies .also to other lines of groceries such as lard and but;er which articles are used for maki g bread and cakes, etc., and are often bought with dead flies in them.
