July 28, 2026 Paradise Paws VI, LLC Honorable Senator Novelle E. Francis, Jr. and Members of the Legislature: We respectfully submit this letter in support of the extension of our existing lease agreement with the Government of the Virgin Islands. In accordance with the terms and provisions of our current agreement, we wish to formally express our intent to extend the lease and continue occupying and improving the subject property. Paradise Paws VI operates a full-service K-9 boarding and training facility serving residents, government agencies, and visitors throughout the Virgin Islands. We have leased this property from the Government of the Virgin Islands since 2006. Since taking possession of the property, we have made significant investments in its development and improvement. These improvements have included excavation and site development, construction of 17 kennel runs for dog boarding, and modification of a shipping container to provide office and retail space. As the demand for professional K-9 boarding, training, and related services has continued to grow, Paradise Paws VI has identified a need to expand our facility and services. Our future plans include the construction of additional indoor and outdoor kennel runs, a larger office facility with expanded retail space, a dedicated grooming area, additional play and training areas, and potentially space that could accommodate veterinary services. Our current annual rental rate is $21,208.02, equivalent to $1,767.35 per month. Throughout the term of our lease, we have remained in good standing and have complied with the requirements and obligations of our agreement. All lease payments and other financial obligations are current, and we have continued to maintain and utilize the property responsibly. The extension of this lease is important to the continued growth and long-term stability of Paradise Paws VI. A lease extension would allow us to continue operating from the property, make additional capital improvements, expand the services available to the community, and build upon the substantial investment that has already been made in developing the premises. Equally important, the extension would provide the stability necessary for Paradise Paws VI to continue providing professional K-9 boarding, training, and care services in a community where these specialized services and suitable facilities remain limited. Our continued operation and planned expansion will help us better accommodate the needs of local pet owners, working-dog handlers, government agencies, and other members of the Virgin Islands community. We greatly value our longstanding relationship with the Government of the Virgin Islands and remain committed to maintaining the property responsibly, meeting all obligations as a lessee, and continuing to invest in improvements that promote the productive and beneficial use of the property.
