ACT NO. 6760 BILL NO. 26-0134 TWENTY-SIXTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE UNITED STATES Regular Session 2005 To amend The Emergency Job Creation and Economic Stimulus Act of 2005, Act No. 6747, relating to the purchase of electric energy from small power producers or co- generators ---0--- BE IT ENACTED by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: §1. This Act shall be known and may be cited as The Rate Reduction, Job Creation and Economic Stimulus Act of 2005. §2. Act No. 6747 (Bill No. 26-0047) is amended in the following instances: (a) The title of the Act is amended by striking “Emergency” (b) The fourth, “Whereas Clause” of the preamble is amended by inserting “Virgin Islands” immediately before “Water and Power”. (c) The fifth,” Whereas Clause” of the preamble is stricken and new language is inserted to read: “WHEREAS, securing an alternative or renewable source of energy could pass on savings to the water and power consumers in the territory; and,” (d) The sixth “Whereas Clause” of the preamble is amended by inserting “or renewable energy” after “alternative”. …
