THE VIRGIN ISLANDS POLICE DEPARTMENT “To Protect and Serve” Office of the Commissioner AAF Justice Complex, 5400 Veterans Drive St. Thomas, 00802 * (340) 774-2211 Administrative Services Building 45 Mars Hill, Frederiksted St. Croix, 00840 * (340) 778-2211 www.vipd.vi.gov VIPD NEWS RELEASE - 082423-275 For Immediate Media Distribution Gunshot Victim on Commandant Gade Suffered Non-Life Threating Injury St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. - On Wednesday, August 23, 2023, officers and detectives were dispatched to Commandant Gade regarding a gunshot victim. Upon arrival contact was made with the victim who had sustained a single gunshot wound to his right inner thigh. When asked, the victim stated that he felt fine and that he did not need medical assistance, after some time he eventually made the decision to travel to Roy Lester Schneider Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The victim declined to give a statement and told the detectives that he had no knowledge of who was responsible for his injuries. This case is presently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau. …
