Georges Gaston Quin against “the verdict of the court martial which re- “eently séutenéed‘hi?x to death for having had treasonable dealing with the Ger- mans,and for betraying Eath Cavell The ground taken by counsel for Quin was that the vote of tae court martial was soar to three. Whereas it shouid have been five to two. The decision of the eourts sets aside the verdiet of the court martial, and Quin will be tried again. Paris, Oct. 31d.—The Supreme Coun- cil today decided to hand over to General Denekir.e, commander of foreces in South- ern Russia, operating agains' the DBol- shevik, the battleship Volia which had been sequestered by the British Navy in the Black Sea. Paris, Oct. 3rd. Advices received b the Peace Conference from Rome have persuaded the members of the Supreme Counecil that Italy will ratify the German peace :reaty by royval decree. The gen- eral opinion in the Council is that such a ratification will be valid unde (he Italian constitution as the fireaty does not invelve any Italian territorial changes. Rio Janeiro, O~t. 3rd.—Sir Ralph Spencer Paget, first British Ambassador to Brazil arrived here today on board the batileship Renown. Rome, Oct. 3rd.—The National Coun- cil of Fiume has sent a message to For- eign Minister Tittoni protesting against the blockade of Fiume, declaring it is bringing about starvation in the -ity.
