And at this time publicly open. Description of Work and Project Number: IFB012DPWC18(C) Demolition of Stadium Stand Located at Dr. Randall James Race Track, St. Croix. Pre-Bid Conference: A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. Cost per Set: 25.00 NON REFUNDABLE Liquidated Damage: $100.00 Completion Time of Work: 30 calendar days Information regarding bidding documents Bidding Documents include the Public Notice, this Invitation to Bid, Instruction to Bidders, Contractor's Qualification Statement, the Contract, Performance and Payment Bonds, General Provisions, Special Provision, Supplemental Specifications, Plan and Specifications. All documents may be obtained from the Department of Property and Procurement. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee as provided for in Form No. P&P-ITB-CC-16-73 (Instruction to Bidders) which is hereby made a part of this Invitation and by this reference incorporated herein as fully and effectively as if set forth in detail. Bid Guarantee for Preferred Bidders will be a specified in 31 V.I.C. 236a (Act No. 2995 approved April 16, 1971) if Preferred Bidders Act applies. If Preferred Act does not apply, failure to provide a five (5%) percent bond will render the bid unresponsive. It is the Bidder’s responsibility to determine if the Act Applies. Bid Guarantee will be in the form of a Bond (Corporate or Individual Surety), Money Order, Certified Check, Irrevocable Letter of Credit or Cash. No Bidder will be allowed to withdraw his bid within a period of thirty (30) calendar days following the date set for the opening thereof. Preferred Bidder: Any bidder claiming eligibility as a “preferred bidder” under the provision of the Preferred Bidder’s Act (31 VIC 236a — Act No. 2995, approved April 16, 1971) must request that his name be added to a preferred bidder’s list to be maintained by the Commissioner of Property and procurement. If a bidder has not previously filed a notarized Certificate with the Commissioner of Property and Procurement, copies thereof may be obtained from the Department of Property and Procurement, Division of Procurement, Building No. 1, Sub Base. CROIX, U.S.V.| PREPARED BY: Ges IN 2 Puss ENGINEERING DIVISION DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS DATE: December 08, 2018 INTRODUCTION ° The Dr. Randall James Race Track Stadium Stand is located mid Island on the western side of the Henry E: Rohlsen Airport. The stand, unfortunately was badly damaged by Hurricane Maria and deemed unsafe. In light of this the government has decided to demolish the stand to avert any potential hazard to pedestrian or the horsemen as they moved along the grounds of the horse track facility on a daily basis. The bottom floor consist of the concession bars, restroom (male and female) tickets booths and racing commission area. These areas are constructed with masonry blocks wall approximately 9 feet high. The total area of the bottom floor with masonry walls is approximately 6,484S.F. The top floor with the aluminium seating is 12,000 S.F PROJECT NAME AND GROSS LIMITS 1. Top Floor e Demolish and remove all aluminium seating (210L.Fx7OL.F) ® Demolition of the Commentator’s Booth e Demolition and removal of the remaining galvanize roof (100’x60) e Demolition of all steel beam and columns (30) supporting roof, benches and building 2. Bottom Floor e Demolition and removal of masonry walls for bathrooms, bars, Race Track Commission and Ticket booth areas (55ftx35ft, 45ftx38ft, 19ftx21ft, 35ftx14ft, and S6ftx35ft) e Demolish and removal of the 2 - three (3) flight of aluminium steps that give access to the seating area at the top of the stand. OBJECTIVE: This Request for Proposal (RFP) is seeking a qualified contractor to demolish the stadium stand at the Dr. Randall James Race Track Facility. ESTIMATED TIME FOR COMPLETION: 30 Calendar Days Demolition Project Requirements: ¢ Alldrains, sanitary or storm, shall be located and sealed and secured so that they can be ’ properly located and recorded for future use once the demolition is done. = e All demolish concrete slabs shall not exceed three inches (3”) in its greatest cross- sectional dimension - . * It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to notify all utility suppliers of intended demolition, to insure all utilities are disconnected e The Scope of Work and Plans shall follow the codes of the Virgin Island Residential Building Code set forth by the Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DP&NR) e ADemolition Permit is required from the Department of Planning and Natural Resources e The quantities noted above are not necessarily exact, and the items noted do not necessarily make up all required, or noted in the construction documents for the demolition of the stand.
