ACTNO, 7984 BILL NO. 32-0007 THIRTY-SECOND LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2017 An Act amending title 33 Virgin Islands Code, subtitle 2, chapter 81, relating to the property taxes Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 33 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 8, subsection 2301 is amended as follows: {a) Section 2301(c) is amended at the end of paragraph (3) by adding the following language: “Commercial real property includes buildings with five or more residential units,” (b) Section 2301 is amended to include a new subsection (c) to read: “(c) In no event, may the application of exemptions and credits reduce the amount of tax due for any real property to an amount less than $360.” SECTION 2. This Act becomes effective January 1, 2018. Thus passed by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands on February 28, 2017.
