ACT NO. 7018 BILL NO. 27-0214 TWENTY-SEVENTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2008 An Act approving the projects to be funded with the 2008 Community Development Block Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ---0--- WHEREAS, the Territory of the Virgin Islands has been awarded a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the amount of $1,810,614 for Fiscal Year 2008 and the Government of the Virgin Islands must submit a formal application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for said funds; and WHEREAS, proposals were solicited from governmental and non-governmental agencies and organizations for projects to be considered for funding from this grant and 55 proposals totaling $9,119,977 were received; and WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant program staff reviewed and evaluated the proposals for eligibility in accordance with the applicable program regulations, consistency with the Five-Year Consolidated Plan, and overall feasibility, and has made recommendations to the Governor relative to the proposals to b …
