FLOOR 06/14/2023 – SPECIAL ORDERED BILL NO. 35-0106 Thirty-Fifth Legislature of the Virgin Islands June 14, 2023 An Act appropriating $700,000 from the General Fund of the Virgin Islands for the purpose of hiring dialysis nurses and other staff PROPOSED BY: Senators Kenneth L. Gittens and Javan E. James, Sr. Co-sponsor: Samuel Carriόn Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: 1 SECTION 1. (a) The sum of $700,000 is appropriated in the fiscal year ending 2 September 30, 2023, from the General Fund of the Virgin Islands to the Caribbean Kidney 3 Center. 4 (b) The Caribbean Kidney Center is subject to the reporting requirements of 2 V.I.C. § 5 29. The funds appropriated in subsection (a) may not be distributed prior to the submission of 6 invoices to the Office of Management and Budget. 7 (c) The sums appropriated in subsection (a) are available until expended. 8 BILL SUMMARY 9 Section 1 of this bill appropriates $700,000 from the General Fund to the Caribbean 10 Kidney Center for hiring of dialysis nurses and other staff. 11 BR23-0589/ June 14, 2023/PFA 12
