GRANT SUPPORT Title: Study of Genetic Differentiation of Diadema antillarum to Improve Management of Caribbean Coral Reef Ecosystems Agency: Virgin Islands-EPSCoR Program, funded by NSF Term: 8/15/04-8/14/06 Goal: To study genetic differentiation of long-spined black sea urchins in the Caribbean to provide information that would ultimately improve management of coral reef ecosystems. Role: PI Title: Revision, Expansion and Implementation of a New Science Education Course Agency: Subcontract Agreement 01-047 with Univ. of Alabama under NASA Prime Agreement NAG5-9388 Term: 6/1/01-12/31/04 Goals: (1) to revise an earlier pilot science course for education majors taught only on the UVI St. Croix Campus to include a pedagogy component; (2) to facilitate approval of the course by UVI for incorporation into the catalog of permanent courses; and (3) to offer the new course to students on both the St. Thomas and St. Croix campuses of UVI. Role: PI 2
