Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources informs the public that the following St. Croix Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Committee Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 5:30 pm. This meeting will be held via the video conferencing platform Microsoft Teams. The agenda is as follows: Public Hearing (public testimony will be heard) Federal Consistency Determination No. CZM0017-23- Virgin Islands Department of Public Works (DPW) requests permission to use FEMA Funds to make improvements to Highway 75 and the placement of electrical service underground in four neighborhoods. The proposed projects for Highway 75 Roadway include roadway geometry improvements, paved shoulders, improved intersections with turn lanes, underground electrical distribution, drainage improvements, better signage, pavement markings better signalization, lighting, ADA improvements and improved transit/bus stops. …

The roadway project is located on the north shore of St. Croix west of the town of Christiansted. Decision Meeting (testimony will not be heard) Federal Consistency Determination No. CZM0028-23- Virgin Islands Department of Education (VIDE) requests permission to use FEMA Funds to replace St. Croix Central High School. The project scope will include demolition and new construction. There is a demolition stage which is the precursor to the reconstruction of the New St. Croix Central High School. The demolition and the new construction will be done through one contractor. The project site is located at Track 3 Upper Bethlehem, Christiansted, St, Croix, USVI 00820. Public Hearing (public testimony will be heard) Federal Consistency Determination No. CZM0005-24-Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (WAPA) requests permission to use FEMA Funds to bury utility lines from Queen Mary Highway along Estate Herman Hill Road to VITEMA (Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency) Road to the renovated VITEMA Headquarters.
