WHEREAS, from [977 until 1979, ax President of the Caribbean Development —— Henry Robiten was acknowledged a the pioneer of the Prederiksted Cruise ¥ WHEREAS, in 1969, Henry Rohlsen was selected by the Virgin Islands Legislature to testify before Congress for the formation of the Virgin Islands National Gnard; and WHEREAS, Henry -Rohisen’s presentation before the Anmed Services Comendazion wea so irmprossive that the legislation establishing the National Guard's presence in the Virgin Islanis was adopted; and from 1969 unt] 1973, Henry Rohisen served as the Administrator for the Island of St. Croix; and ‘WHEREAS, an astute politician, Henry Rohisen, portrayed his persuasive talents at the 1972 National Republican Convention es a delegate fiom tha Virgin Islands. He spoke so convincingly at the convention of the necd for a Virgin Islands Delegate to Congress that the idea was writen into the Republican Party's campaign platform; and WHEREAS, from 1972 until 1976, Henry Rohisen was selected as the Republican National Committeeman for the Virgin Islands and also served as 2 member of the Second and Third Constitudonal Convention; and WHEREAS, Henry Rohisen, a conscientious Virgin Islander, served on various government boards and commissions such as: Chairman of the Sth and 9th Municipal council of St. Croix, Chairman of the Virgin Islands Selective Service Appoals Board, Chairman of the Legislative Power Comunittee, a member of the Home Rules Committee, the local Government Coenmiites, the special Transportation Committees, a member of the Taxi Appeals Board, a member of the Banking Board, and a member of the Cormunission of Horse Racing; and | WHEREAS, Henry Rohlson was married to Joyce H. Sampson Rohisen, and have 6 daughter, Joyce Rohisen and 2 sn, Henry Rohisen J; and WHEREAS, throughout his lifhtime, Heary Rohisen, maintained a keen interest in local politics aiid was dedicated to improving the quality of ife for all Virgin Islanders low, Therefore, Br tr prs Se eer eel Sica zid OZOEGLLOFE ALIMYOHLYNY LYOd IA WdS€t2 e002 st des 3 BE IT ENACTED by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION |. (a) The Legislature of the Virgin Islands, on behalf of the people of the Virgin Islands hereby posthumously honors and commends Heory Eat Rohisen for fis outstanding contribucions to the people of the Virgin Islands. (b) The Alexander Hamilton Airport Located on Si. Cralx shall heneeforth be renamed "The Heary E. Rohlsen Airport”. The Virgin Islands Port Authority shall cause to be prepared & distinctive sign bearing the insoripsion “Ths Henry E. Rotilsen Airport" “and shall consplevously anid permanently affix wuch vign ot the efttrance to the Alexander Hamilton Airport. ° (c) A perma plaque copy of this act shall be prepated and presented to the family of Heary Emut Rotisen, by the President of the Legislature, or his designec, at an appropriate ceremony held for that purpose.
