ACTNO.9095 BILL NO. 36-0133 THIRTY-SIXTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2026 An act amending title 17 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 10, section 111(a)(1) providing mental health education and instruction Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 17 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 10, section 111, subsection (a)(1) is amended by striking “and” and by adding the following after “environment”: “and mental health education and instruction that include age-appropriate model learning activities for grades kindergarten through 12 on the overarching mental health themes like early intervention and prevention, stigma and discrimination reduction and _ holistic approach to well-being and core principles such as person-centered care, ethical practice and empowerment. The mental health education must include learning activities that develop pupils’ mental health wellness, social connectedness and supportive relationships through resiliency, problem solving skills, coping skills, self-esteem, and a positive school and home environment. …
